  • Duck Race 2011 Results

Posted on July 7th, 2011 admin No comments

The 2011 Duck Race and BBQ was held on a very wet Sunday afternoon at the end of June, and 80 little ducks raced down the Keir Burn 10 times to find winners in all the categories.  Unfortunately, 35 ducks raced past the winning line and were last seen heading for the North Sea.   The duck catchers above had an impossible task as the raging waters kept getting deeper as the rain kept on falling.  However, there was a good crowd of supporters to cheer the races and great fun was had by all.

The magnificent sum of over £600 was raised for funds for the Sunshine and Hot Chocolate Clubs and thanks must go to all who helped with the organization and to all who sponsored a duck or two.  A list of prize winners is on the Church notice board and in the Braco shop.

  • Piggerybrae Concert

Posted on November 9th, 2008 admin No comments

The Piggerybrae Band came to Braco Village Hall on Friday 7th November and the audience enjoyed a wonderful evening of Scottish songs, humour and banter.
Piggerybrae are guys from Cambuslang near Glasgow in Scotland who love their music and their roots. They all sing in their spare time, performing at many charitable events, churches, rotary etc.  They like to give a Scottish folk flavour to their concerts.

The lads agreed to lay on an evening of Glesca entertainment to help raise funds for our local church.  It certainly was a very successful event.
